Theologians,
Consider this & please comment with your opinion;
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
Man (humanity) needs 2 things to spend eternity with Jesus:
- Redemption – atonement – payment for all your sins
- Righteousness – holiness – become clean to be allowed with God
- He pays for our transgressions by his atoning death on the cross. (1 Peter 1:4, Titus 2:14)
- An exchange occurs. Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us & our sin to Him, allowing his righteousness to be credited to our account (Romans 5:12,18-19, 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Non-believers get #1 since Christ’s death & payment is sufficient for all (John 1:29) but fail to get #2 because his righteousness is only imputed on those who love God (Romans 8:28), those whom He elected to be conformed to the image of his Son (Romans 8:29-30).
Non-believers final destination: Hell. Eternal separation from God. (John 3:36)
Conclusion
Christ’s death is the ONLY way that allows those whom he foreknew to be glorified (Romans 8:29-30).
Orthodox believers would agree that there is no salvation apart of Christ. However would you (assuming the you are an orthodox believer) agree / disagree to the conclusion?
