Yup. I quit my safe big salary corporate job! I’ve had this nudge for so long that I’ve been called for more than just make money. Yesterday was my last day and it’s Saturday & I’ve been up since 4am thinking about “What’s next”!
Last anything is interesting. Last words people choose say, last minutes at a very familiar and safe place..etc. A lot can be told about the time that was spent from these words.
One of the words that stood out the most came from a coworker that I barely talked to in the 4 years I worked at the company. I had helped him out for a couple of hours 2+ years ago in a project that I had completely forgotten about. The project apparently took off and it put him on a path that he never would’ve gotten on if I hadn’t helped. He wanted me to let him know if there is a way he can return the favor in the future.
For some reason this completely unexpected “thank you” stood out the most – Makes you wonder what kind of impact on people’s lives you have when you least expect it.
LEGACY is a word that I’ve been praying the past several months as I knew this day was approaching. What kind of message did we leave behind. What will people say once we leave. Did we make a difference?
Paul said it well when he was wrapping things up…
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now thre is in store for me the crown of rightousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day.” – 2 Tim 4:7
I can’t say that I can honestly say the same. I wasn’t always faithful at my job by giving them my best for 8+ hours a day for 4 years but God was so gracious to me to have a taste of it.
Big Questions
– What kind of legacy are you leaving behind in your workplace, your school, your town, & your family?
– Are you writing a story worth telling?
Prayer Request
Be praying for clarity as I seek to understand & uncover what’s next & what’s it going to be about.
